Fostex has introduced two new premium headphones, the TH810 and TH818. Both models are designed to bring technology and sound characteristics associated with the flagship TH910 and TH919 into a new, more standard product line. The Japanese brand has combined its familiar biodynamic driver technology with solid wood housings and lightweight magnesium mechanical components, creating two headphones aimed at slightly different listeners. The TH810 is a closed-back design intended for users who want greater isolation from the outside world and a more intimate connection with the music, while the TH818 is an open-back model designed to provide a freer soundstage, a more natural sense of space and long-term comfort during extended listening sessions.

Grado Labs revealed the Signature S550, the latest addition to its growing Signature Line of open-back headphones and the fourth model in the series following the earlier S950 and S750 variants. After several years of building that image with remarkable consistency, Meze Audio became the kind of brand even less experienced music lovers can recognize from the shape of the ear cups alone.

Grell is preparing a broader international rollout of the OAE2, an open-back headphone developed by Axel Grell and positioned as a research-led alternative to more conventional audiophile designs. What makes the OAE2 interesting is that it does not present itself as just another open-back headphone chasing width, sparkle, or exaggerated spaciousness. FiiO is expanding its in-ear headphone range with the JH13, a hybrid model aimed at users who want to try a more advanced driver configuration without spending very much. According to the manufacturer, these IEMs are intended to combine technology associated with more expensive designs with straightforward usability and easy drivability from typical mobile sources. At the centre of the JH13 is a three-driver hybrid layout consisting of a 10mm dynamic driver for the low end and a pair of balanced armature drivers handling the upper registers.
