Final Audio Design ZE300

Final Audio Design has introduced the ZE300, an ultra compact noise-cancelling true wireless earphone created for everyday listening in the smallest form factor the company has produced so far. Each earpiece weighs 4 g and the design draws on Final's Cotsubu series, coming in 20 percent smaller than the ZE3000 SV to offer a secure, barely there fit that is particularly suitable for smaller ears and extended wear. The ZE300 is aimed at users who want a light, discreet earphone for music, podcasts, video and day to day use, with an emphasis on comfort, clarity and versatility rather than showy styling.

The housing has been completely reworked inside to improve both sound quality and stability in the ear, so that the earphones remain secure during movement while maintaining all day comfort. Despite its compact size the ZE300 incorporates active noise cancelling based on Final's own algorithm, with three listening modes to match different situations. Users can switch between full Noise Cancelling, an Ambient mode that lets in outside sound and ANC Off, so the earphones can move naturally from immersive listening in busy environments to more aware listening during commutes or at home. Switching is handled by a single tap, with the intention of keeping operation simple and intuitive.

Final has equipped the ZE300 with a set of features focused on comfort, durability and everyday practicality. Airflow ports are used to release pressure inside the ear, which helps to reduce strain on the eardrum and protects the internal drivers over time. A Touch Control Disable Mode can be engaged to prevent accidental taps and also turns off LED indicators and voice prompts, which is useful for uninterrupted listening. Calls are handled by a high performance noise suppressing microphone designed to maintain vocal clarity, while an IPX4 rating provides resistance to splashes and sweat so that the ZE300 can be used confidently in daily life or during light exercise. The powder coated finish is designed to give a secure, non slip grip while resisting fingerprints.

Sound tuning follows Final's characteristic focus on a natural, low fatigue presentation. A newly tuned acoustic structure is used to deliver a soft but detailed and coherent sound that avoids the sharpness often associated with very small true wireless designs. Vocal nuance, instrumental texture and ambient details are emphasised in a way that is intended to serve music, video content and gaming equally well, without becoming tiring over longer sessions. The ZE300 is offered in three understated colours called Sky Gray, Greige and Black, and comes with a compact charging case, Final's Type E eartips in SS, S and M sizes and a USB C charging cable. Playback time is quoted at up to 5.5 hours from the earbuds themselves, with a further 16.5 hours available from the case for a combined total of 21.5 hours. Charging time is approximately 1.5 hours and Bluetooth transmission is handled using SBC and AAC codecs. The Final ZE300 is available through Amazon and selected retailers worldwide at a suggested price of £40/€45/$50. Info and photos by Final Audio Design.
