Audio-Technica AT-SB727
Four decades after its original debut, the Sound Burger is back in our regular lineup! The new AT-SB727 portable turntable retains the classic, lightweight design of the 1980s model, while offering modern conveniences like Bluetooth wireless connectivity, a lithium-ion battery, and a USB-C charging cable. Perfect for parties, picnics, and compact living spaces, the updated Sound Burger plays 33 1/3 and 45 rpm records and comes in three color options - black, white and yellow.
Following the hit reimagining of its fan-favourite record player, Audio-Technica has announced three stylish new colours for the iconic Sound Burger. The brand's iconic portable record player was reintroduced last year in striking retro red as part of Audio-Technica's 60th anniversary celebration - and promptly sold out worldwide in a matter of days. Audio-Technica is now launching the iconic Sound Burger in sophisticated black and white, with a dazzling yellow colourway set to launch Summer this year.
Staying true to the unmistakeable 1980s aesthetic that made the Sound Burger an icon of the decade's vinyl scene, the new colours are directly inspired by the shades first seen all those years ago, giving fans another chance to own a piece of music history. After merging pop art style with high-fidelity audio some 40 years ago, the Sound Burger has been updated with a host of modern trappings, including Bluetooth wireless audio for cable-free connectivity and a USB-C port for a seamless charging experience. Meanwhile, its compact, lightweight design makes the Sound Burger the perfect partner for parties, picnics, and smaller living spaces.
The updated Sound Burger boasts a belt-drive system that plays 33 1/3 and 45 RPM records, allowing the choice between singles and LPs. To ensure that the Sound Burger is as portable as ever, it even uses a dynamic balance system that sees pressure applied to the stylus via a spring, alongside a DC motor that keeps everything running smoothly during playback. Love at first listen, the Sound Burger offers a doorway to the rich world of analogue music. While the Sound Burger is a portable design, the inclusion of an RCA audio cable as well as Bluetooth means that it can be hooked up to a home stereo or speaker system either wired or wirelessly. The Audio-Technica Sound Burger (AT-SB727) will be available at an MSRP of £199/€229. Info and photos by Audio-Technica.
