Krix Evara

Krix has introduced a new design focused evolution of two of its most successful Hi-Fi models with the launch of the Evara range, a compact loudspeaker line created for modern living spaces where sound quality needs to coexist with décor, limited space and everyday use. The Evara family debuts with the Equinox Evara bookshelf speaker and the Seismix 1 Evara subwoofer, combining the established acoustic performance of their predecessors with a more contemporary visual identity intended to make it easier to integrate a serious stereo or TV system into apartments, shared homes and lifestyle oriented listening areas.

While the core engineering and acoustic design of the original Equinox and Seismix 1 remain unchanged, the Evara versions present a thoroughly updated exterior. Both models are offered in five new finishes called Studio White, Studio Black, Studio Navy, Studio Green and Studio Charcoal. The cabinets use magnetic grilles for a clean, seamless appearance, with Studio White supplied with a mid grey grille and all other finishes delivered with a Charcoal grille. According to Krix, the idea is to retain the sound that existing customers know while providing an alternative aesthetic that fits more naturally into contemporary interiors. As Amanda Zimmermann, Marketing Manager at Krix, puts it, "Evara is about bringing the Krix sound experience to more homes around the world. We've kept the acoustic performance our customers trust but introduced a fresh design that fits beautifully into apartments, shared living spaces and modern homes."

The Equinox Evara is designed to deliver a full and engaging sound from a compact enclosure that is easy to position in real rooms. With a sensitivity of 88 dB and a height of under 30 cm, it is suited to shelves, desks, media furniture or close to wall placement, which is often necessary in smaller environments. Magnetic grilles protect the drivers from accidental contact while providing a tidy finish that will be appreciated in homes with children or pets. Partnered with the Seismix 1 Evara subwoofer the system is intended to add smooth, controlled low frequencies without allowing the subwoofer to dominate the visual or acoustic character of the room.

The Evara concept is aimed squarely at everyday life rather than dedicated listening rooms. Krix highlights applications such as apartments, rentals and townhouses, shared living with family or flatmates, desks and gaming setups, home offices, media consoles and built in joinery, as well as vinyl listening sessions, streaming playlists or late night films. The intention is to give listeners who would not necessarily install large floorstanding loudspeakers a way to experience a more substantial and immersive soundstage from a system that still respects constraints of space, layout and interior design.

Within the wider Krix portfolio the new line sits alongside rather than replacing the existing models. The original Equinox in Black Woodgrain, Blackwood and Atlantic Jarrah finishes and the Seismix 1 in Black Woodgrain continue as part of the standard Hi-Fi range, offering a more traditional presentation for customers who prefer those aesthetics. Evara adds a design led alternative for markets and listeners that place a stronger emphasis on contemporary styling and colour options, extending the family rather than repositioning it. Around the launch period Krix also promoted the range through a limited time offer that granted double Krix Rewards points on any Evara product purchased and registered online, an incentive aimed at early adopters of the new finishes.

Krix is an Australian loudspeaker manufacturer established in 1974 and based in South Australia, where it designs and handcrafts its products. The company supplies systems for home Hi-Fi and home cinema as well as commercial theatres around the world, with an emphasis on realism, craftsmanship and long term reliability in use. Its long standing tagline reflects this focus, stating, "For the ultimate sound experience at home, play it through Krix." The Evara range is now available through Krix dealers, initially in Australia and progressively via international distributors, with local pricing, availability and demonstration stock determined by authorised retailers in each market.
