Sivga SV023

Since 2016, Sivga has been producing a range of acclaimed hi-fi headphones with a real-wood finish, including the recently announced closed-back Oriole and Robin. Delivering a spacious soundstage with excellent separation, and a rich, warm musicality, the Sivga SV023 are an open-back design with 50mm dynamic drivers which have been specially designed and engineered by Sivga in-house.

Larger drivers can sometimes deliver a significant increase in headphone weight. However, with the Sivga SV023, the dedicated engineering team has delivered a custom driver within an ergonomic headphone design weighing just 318 g. Housed in a real walnut wood headphone chamber shell, the drivers are comprised of a Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) composite cone with a Beryllium-plated centre. The Sivga SV023 deliver a frequency response of 20 Hz - 40 kHz, sensitivity of 105 dB, and an impedance rating of 300 Ω.

With soft memory-foam earcups, perforated with air holes to ensure both improved sound-quality and breathability - and a real leather and stainless steel headband, that delivers just the right amount of clamping force without unnecessary pressure - the Sivga SV023 not only feel lightweight, but are comfortable to wear for extended periods of time.

The Sivga SV023 comes with a braided 2 metre 4.4mm balanced cable. This 6N OCC cable - with 4 strands of braid, each composed of 30 0.08mm cores and 250D break-proof wire - delivers excellent sound quality from balanced sources such as portable DAPs and headphone amplifiers. Also supplied are both a 4.4mm balanced to 3.5mm single-ended adaptor, and a 3.5mm to 6.35mm adaptor; allowing the Sivga SV023 to be used with a host of devices, including traditional hi-fi separates, laptops and smartphones. Sivga SV023 are available now, priced £449/$449. Info and photos by Sivga via Starscream Communications.
