Sonus Faber Amati Supreme
Sonus Faber has unveiled the Amati Supreme, a new floorstanding loudspeaker that represents the pinnacle of the Italian brand's acoustic innovation and design philosophy. Drawing inspiration from the flagship Suprema, the Amati Supreme combines reference-level performance with refined craftsmanship in a more compact and elegant form, reaffirming Sonus Faber's mastery of the union between engineering precision and artistic expression.
Handcrafted in Vicenza, the Amati Supreme carries forward the company's signature 'Voice of Sonus Faber' acoustic heritage. This technology, derived directly from the Suprema, ensures a sound signature defined by natural timbre, balance and emotional authenticity. The speaker delivers an impressive 600W of undistorted power, allowing it to capture both the scale and nuance of live performance with remarkable ease. Every component, from driver design to enclosure tuning, has been meticulously refined to achieve a level of musicality and aesthetic harmony worthy of its name.
At the top of the cabinet, a distinctive transparent Y-shaped window reveals the Amati Supreme's internal mid-high crossover network - a subtle architectural gesture symbolising the connection between technology and design. "Amati Supreme is the embodiment of our belief that design and sound are inseparable. Every element was chosen not only to shape how the speaker sounds, but to ensure it's every bit as beautiful to see as it is to hear. It is our most complete expression of craftsmanship, innovation and Italian artistry to date." - said Livio Cucuzza, Chief Design Officer at Sonus Faber.
Inside the enclosure, a bespoke driver array forms the foundation of its sonic performance. A silk dome tweeter and super tweeter provide refined treble extension and airiness, while Sonus Faber's signature Camelia midrange unit offers exceptional control of the critical vocal and instrumental frequencies. Each element is mounted on a CNC-machined aluminium flange within a cork-lined chamber, a material chosen for its natural damping properties and ability to optimise airflow. Together, these components deliver a seamless and transparent presentation, with a sound that feels open, vivid and alive.
The rear of the cabinet incorporates an innovative fine-tuning mechanism, allowing precise adjustment of mid-high and mid-bass output for perfect integration into a variety of acoustic environments. This discreet yet powerful system reflects Sonus Faber's dedication to tailoring each loudspeaker to the listener's room and preferences, ensuring the most natural and balanced performance possible.
Externally, the Amati Supreme is finished with the same artisanal precision found in fine Italian furniture. Two new matte metal finishes - Sabbia Oro, a luminous warm neutral, and Terra Rossa, an earthy red inspired by the clay soils of Veneto - give the speaker a distinctive identity. For the first time in the brand's history, the finish wraps around the entire cabinet, including the front baffle, creating a seamless sculptural form that embodies elegance and technical purity in equal measure.
Each Amati Supreme is individually tuned by Sonus Faber's master technicians, who rely not only on advanced measurement systems but also on their trained ears and emotional intuition to achieve perfect harmonic balance. This final human touch ensures that every speaker leaving Vicenza bears the unmistakable voice of Sonus Faber - natural, expressive and timeless. The Sonus Faber Amati Supreme will be available globally through selected retailers. Info and photos by Sonus Faber.
