Beyerdynamic DJ 300 PRO X

Beyerdynamic introduced two new professional DJ headphones - the DJ 300 PRO X and DJ 300 PRO X Club - designed to bridge the gap between live performance and studio work. The new headphones are built around the idea of flexibility and durability, offering a modular design that allows users to switch between on-ear and over-ear configurations within seconds. At the heart of both models is a newly developed 45 mm dynamic driver, engineered to deliver a balanced, powerful and detailed sound that remains clear even at high playback levels. Compared with conventional DJ headphones, the transducer offers a wider dynamic range and improved control across the frequency spectrum. The low end is deep and punchy, providing a solid foundation for beatmatching and cueing, while the treble retains crispness and precision without fatigue. Beyerdynamic says that the driver design is tuned to maintain accuracy under high sound pressure levels, ensuring clarity of kick drums, hi-hats and sequenced synth lines typical of modern electronic music.

Each model supports detachable cables with a bayonet locking system and dual-side connectivity, allowing the user to connect from either earcup depending on preference or setup. The supplied accessories include both a coiled and a straight 1.5 m cable, a 3.5 mm mini-jack with a 6.35 mm adapter, and reinforced connectors to prevent mechanical noise and vibration transfer during live performance. This setup ensures compatibility with a wide range of DJ mixers, audio interfaces and professional headphone amplifiers.

Ergonomics and comfort were central to the design process. The DJ 300 PRO X and DJ 300 PRO X Club feature an optimised clamping force of 6 N in the on-ear configuration and 7 N in the over-ear setup, striking a balance between secure fit and comfort for long sessions. Passive isolation is rated at 20 dB (A), providing sufficient separation from external noise in loud club environments or during concentrated studio work. The modular earpad system allows users to adapt the fit and sound character to their needs - tighter and more focused for stage use, or more spacious for production and mixing.

Visually, the two variants cater to different audiences. The standard DJ 300 PRO X presents a classic, understated design aimed at professional DJs who prefer a clean and minimal aesthetic. The DJ 300 PRO X Club, on the other hand, features a silver headband frame and orange "Club" lettering on the earcups, giving it a more expressive and contemporary look. Both share the same technical foundation and are built using robust materials for long-term reliability.

One of the unique features of the new series is its high level of modularity and personalisation. Using Beyerdynamic's online configurator, users can customise their headphones with logos, patterns or artwork on the outer earcups. After extended use, parts such as cushions, headbands and shells can be replaced individually, giving the headphones a refreshed appearance without the need to purchase a new pair. This approach fits with the company's sustainability strategy, which prioritises repairability and product longevity over disposability.

"The DJ scene is as diverse as the music that moves us. That's why our latest DJ headphones are available in two versions - one clean and understated, the other bold and eye-catching. We are particularly proud of the unique 2-in-1 system, which makes these headphones a remarkably versatile tool. And for those who want to go even further, we offer the ability to personalise the earcups - a great way to express yourself." - said Kevin Nietsch, Product Manager at Beyerdynamic.

In keeping with the needs of professional users, both models have been designed for intensive use on tour and in the studio. The foldable mechanism allows for quick packing and secure storage in the supplied carrying case, making transport between performances and sessions easy. All critical components - ear pads, headband and cables - are user-replaceable and available as spare parts through Beyerdynamic's support network. The design has been tested for durability and resistance to mechanical stress, ensuring long service life even in demanding environments. The DJ 300 PRO X and DJ 300 PRO X Club will be available worldwide through the Beyerdynamic online store, Amazon and authorised retailers. The suggested retail price for both versions is €199.
