Roksan Caspian 4G Streaming Pre-Amplifier & Power Amplifier
Roksan is expanding its Caspian Series 4G electronics into a fully modular ecosystem, bringing streaming, pre-amplification and power amplification together under one design and engineering philosophy. The award-winning range, originally introduced with the Caspian Streaming Amplifier and Integrated Amplifier, now gains two new models - the Caspian Streaming Pre-Amplifier and Caspian Power Amplifier. Hand-built at Monitor Audio Group's headquarters in Rayleigh, Essex, the new components are designed for listeners who want to separate control and amplification, build more ambitious stereo systems or move towards mono-block configurations while staying within the Caspian family.
With this launch, Caspian Series 4G becomes a four-strong line-up, comprising the Streaming Amplifier, Integrated Amplifier, Streaming Pre-Amplifier and Power Amplifier. The concept is straightforward - users can choose a single-box solution or move to a pre/power combination that allows greater system flexibility and upgrade potential. Born of Monitor Audio Group's Transparent Design Philosophy, the series aims to balance advanced engineering with a clean, timeless aesthetic, keeping the focus on musical neutrality and intuitive operation. External design elements such as custom extruded heatsinks, chamfered machining and concealed internal antennas give the units a distinctively Roksan identity while maintaining a restrained, modern look.
At the heart of the new offering sits the Caspian Streaming Pre-Amplifier, conceived as the control centre of any Caspian system. It combines BluOS streaming, Roon Ready integration and a fully balanced analogue pre-amplifier section in one chassis, with internal custom-built antennas for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth ensuring stable wireless connectivity without external aerials disrupting the silhouette. A novel ground switching input design is used to minimise cross-talk between connected sources, and multiple dedicated power supplies are employed to keep the analogue and digital domains as clean and quiet as possible. The result is a pre-amplifier that can function as a sophisticated digital and analogue hub while preserving signal integrity and offering full flexibility when pairing with the Caspian Power Amplifier or other power amps.
The Caspian Power Amplifier has been engineered to deliver the other half of the equation - uncompromising drive and control. It can be used in stereo mode or as part of a mono-block pair, giving users a clear upgrade path as systems evolve. The amplifier is built around Roksan's Euphoria class AB architecture, which uses separate power supplies for the voltage and current stages. By reducing interaction between these sections, the design aims to achieve a cleaner, more detailed and more controlled sound. Roksan's engineers have paid particular attention to how the amplifier behaves at its limits, tuning its soft-clip characteristics through extensive listening so that maximum sound pressure can be reached before any audible degradation sets in, preserving musicality even under demanding conditions.
Both new Caspian components make extensive use of Roksan's in-house core technologies. Central to the digital front end is the Rapture DAC architecture, a differential current-conveyor topology that departs from conventional op-amp based reconstruction. The current-conveyor approach is claimed to offer superior gain-bandwidth performance, which is essential for faithful high-resolution audio reproduction, while relying on a single circuit element for gain matching. This allows Rapture DAC to be implemented as a discrete solution rather than an off-the-shelf integrated circuit, aligning with the high-end positioning of Caspian Series 4G and its focus on extracting as much information as possible from digital sources.
Volume control in the series is handled by an ultra-high-resolution hybrid system that combines digital and analogue domains. A bespoke digital-analogue algorithm is used to manage level, tone and system matching, giving users the benefits of precise digital control while maintaining the sonic advantages of an analogue output stage. This is complemented by a powerful DSP engine accessed via Monitor Audio Group's MaestroUnite app. Within this engine, four key technologies - Intelligent Tone, Intelligent Boundary, Intelligent Speaker and Intelligent Phono - are available to help tailor the system to each listening environment. Users can fine-tune the balance of their system in-room, adjust how the electronics interact with different speakers and optimise performance from the built-in MM and MC phono stages, which feature calibrated RIAA equalisation.
Control and feedback are provided by a new high-contrast, mono colour OLED display that forms the visual centre of the front panel. The display frames an intuitive single-point-of-control user interface, with customisable input icons for easier source selection and a progress indicator for features such as track length. The MaestroUnite app offers deeper configuration options, from input naming and gain settings to headphone sensitivity, balance and low-power standby behaviour, giving users both a simple everyday experience and advanced setup tools when needed.
Connectivity on the streaming side is anchored by BluOS, which remains Roksan's platform of choice for Caspian Series 4G. BluOS provides high-resolution streaming up to 24 bit/192 kHz, access to a wide array of music services and the ability to distribute audio wirelessly to up to 64 zones with no loss of quality. Integration with Roon allows the Streaming Pre-Amplifier to drop seamlessly into server-based ecosystems, while the broader Caspian architecture ensures that these digital capabilities feed into a signal path designed to maintain transparency from source to loudspeaker.
Pricing reflects the flagship status of the new separates within the Caspian hierarchy. The Caspian Streaming Pre-Amplifier is priced at £3,500, $4,500 or €4,000 per piece, while the Caspian Power Amplifier is offered at £3,000, $3,750 or €3,500 per piece. For those configuring a matched pre/power system, the Caspian Streaming Pre & Power Amplifier System is priced at £6,500, $8,250 or €7,500. Caspian Series 4G Pre and Power Amplifiers will be available from January 2026. Info and pictures by Roksan.
