SVS 3000 Micro R|Evolution

SVS has expanded its compact subwoofer lineup with the introduction of the SVS 3000 Micro R|Evolution, a new sealed-cabinet model designed to deliver reference-grade low-frequency performance from an enclosure measuring just 11 inches across. Positioned as a successor to the earlier 3000 Micro, the new version brings updated drivers, a more powerful amplifier platform, and significantly increased DSP capability while maintaining the lifestyle-friendly form factor that made the original model popular in space-constrained listening rooms.

At the core of the design is a dual-opposing driver configuration using two custom 9-inch high-excursion woofers mounted on opposite sides of the cabinet. Operating in a force-balanced arrangement, the drivers cancel mechanical vibration and allow the enclosure to remain acoustically inert even at higher output levels. This approach avoids the need for passive radiators often used in compact subwoofers and instead prioritizes transient control and low-frequency precision. The drivers themselves employ long-throw motor assemblies, aluminum cones, and progressive surrounds to maintain linearity across large excursions.

Amplification is provided by SVS's latest R|Evolution platform rated at 1,200 watts continuous and more than 4,000 watts peak output. The design combines Class D efficiency with a fully discrete MOSFET output stage capable of delivering high current to the drivers while maintaining stability and control across the operating range. A digitally monitored switch-mode power supply maintains a consistent 160-volt rail voltage to optimize performance under varying load conditions.

Signal management is handled by a 295 MHz Analog Devices DSP engine with 56-bit processing, described by the manufacturer as the most advanced control system it has implemented in a compact subwoofer to date. The processor supervises driver behavior, amplifier performance, and thermal conditions in real time while shaping in-room frequency response for improved extension and output consistency. According to SVS, the platform delivers several times the processing power of previous generations and enables lower distortion together with improved headroom.

Despite its compact enclosure measuring 278 x 299 x 274 mm, the 3000 Micro R|Evolution is specified to reach 20 Hz with a frequency response extending to 230 Hz within a ±3 dB window. The sealed cabinet construction uses reinforced MDF panels and internal bracing to maintain structural rigidity, while the force-balanced driver layout further reduces cabinet-borne vibration. The result is a micro-format subwoofer intended to integrate more easily into smaller listening environments without sacrificing extension into infrasonic territory.

Control and calibration are handled through the SVS Subwoofer Control smartphone app, which provides adjustment of volume, low-pass filter, phase, polarity, room-gain compensation, and up to six parametric EQ bands. Three onboard memory presets allow quick switching between listening profiles. An Auto Room EQ feature is scheduled to arrive as a firmware update later in 2026. Connectivity includes both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs for integration with stereo and home-theater systems.

SVS is a US-based loudspeaker manufacturer founded in Ohio and known primarily for its subwoofers and home-theater speaker systems. Over the past two decades the company has expanded its catalog to include multiple subwoofer platforms ranging from compact sealed designs to large reference models, with an emphasis on combining high output capability with advanced DSP control and user-friendly integration tools. The SVS 3000 Micro R|Evolution is available in Piano Gloss Black and Piano Gloss White finishes. Pricing is set at $999/€1,149/£1,149 depending on region, with global availability beginning in spring 2026. Info and photos by SVS.
