Audio Pro x Sheraton Stockholm
Sheraton Stockholm is preparing to reopen in May after an extensive renovation programme that has already transformed all 463 guest rooms and is now moving into its final stage in the hotel's shared spaces. As part of that overhaul, the property has chosen to equip every room with Audio Pro C5 MkII wireless speakers, integrating the Swedish brand's compact multi-room model into a broader interior concept built around local design, craftsmanship and long-term quality. Opened in 1971, the hotel has long been one of the Swedish capital's landmark hospitality addresses, and the current refurbishment is intended not simply as a technical update, but as a repositioning towards a more lifestyle-oriented, boutique character while retaining the standards associated with the Sheraton name.
According to the hotel, the redesign places strong emphasis on Swedish-made products and carefully selected room accessories, from coffee machines and glasses to smaller everyday items that reinforce the new visual identity. Within that context, the choice of Audio Pro appears to be both aesthetic and practical. "This extensive renovation has aimed for creating a new lifestyle and boutique character for the hotel, while maintaining a focus on quality. Central to this transformation is our focus on Swedish design and craftsmanship as part of the new interior design. Each room will feature carefully selected Swedish design items, such as coffee machines, cups, glasses, steamers and much more. And we are very pleased that Audio Pro's speakers will be part of this Swedish craftsmanship element in our hotel rooms." - says Jacob Khan, Director of Commercial Strategies at Sheraton Stockholm.
The version selected for the project is the sand-coloured Audio Pro C5 MkII, a model whose understated form and restrained finish evidently matched the visual language the hotel wanted to achieve. Khan adds, "Audio Pro's sand-colored speakers have a sleek, minimalist look that fits very well with our 'Swedish design and craft' initiative. The speaker feels modern, yet classic". He also underlines that the renovation has been shaped by sustainability concerns as well as design ambitions. "We want our chosen design items to be sustainable in terms of both quality and design over time, as we invest heavily in working in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way. In this renovation we have chosen, among other things, to reuse old wardrobe doors as part of the interior design. This shows that by choosing good quality you can renovate, as in this case the wooden details, in a climate-friendly way and still get a fantastically beautiful result. This makes it both environmentally smart as well as stylish".
From Audio Pro's perspective, the installation is both a large-scale commercial deployment and a high-visibility endorsement of the company's design approach. Nils Ankarcrona, CEO of Audio Pro, comments, "We think our Swedish-designed C5 MkII speaker fits perfectly into Sheraton Stockholm's new design initiative. And we think the focus on Nordic brands feels right for the aesthetics chosen for the hotel's interior design. We are very proud to be part of such a context and look forward to having our speakers in all 463 rooms in this historic hotel". While the announcement focuses primarily on the design and hospitality dimension of the partnership, it also reflects a broader trend in premium hotel refurbishments, where in-room audio is increasingly treated as part of the overall guest experience rather than a secondary add-on.
