Sivga SV021 Pro

Sivga has introduced the SV021 Pro, a new closed-back headphone that builds on one of the company's better-known dynamic designs while aiming to improve resolution, comfort, and material quality without abandoning the easygoing character that helped the original model find an audience among home listeners. Positioned as the successor to the SV021, the new version appears to focus less on reinventing the formula than on refining it, with a newly developed 50 mm driver, updated construction, and a continued emphasis on natural materials and long-session usability.

At the center of the SV021 Pro is a newly developed 50 mm aluminum diaphragm dynamic driver built around a five-layer composite diaphragm designed to balance rigidity and damping. According to Sivga, the goal is better clarity through the midrange and treble, more precise detail retrieval, and a more controlled overall presentation across the frequency range. The driver also uses an ultra-fine black copper aluminum alloy voice coil, along with a dome-shaped six-layer reinforced composite structure and a revised magnetic circuit system intended to improve efficiency and reduce distortion.

That technical package is wrapped in a design language Sivga has leaned on for some time, combining modern headphone engineering with handcrafted wood elements. The SV021 Pro will be offered with natural wood earcups in either beechwood or zebrawood, giving the two versions slightly different visual identities while reinforcing the company's preference for a more tactile, furniture-like approach to product design. Sivga also suggests that the wood construction contributes in a small way to the headphone's tonal character, adding a measure of warmth without compromising clarity.

Comfort is clearly another major part of the pitch. The SV021 Pro uses widened adaptive earpads made from velour, with the material chosen for breathability and reduced skin irritation during longer listening sessions. The supporting structure is built from metal and uses a curved, adjustable form intended to distribute pressure more evenly and reduce fatigue over time. Taken together, the design suggests that Sivga wants this model to work not just as an occasional hi-fi indulgence, but as a practical everyday closed-back headphone for extended home use.

The supplied cable is detachable and made from oxygen-free copper, with Sivga emphasizing low-resistance signal transfer, durability, and ease of replacement. The included connection is single-ended via 3.5 mm, and the published specifications list a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, impedance of 45 ohms, sensitivity of 106 dB, cable length of 1.6 m, and weight of 289 g. On paper, that places the SV021 Pro in a relatively easy-to-drive category, suggesting compatibility with a broad range of portable players, DAC-headphone amps, and desktop components.

In broader terms, the SV021 Pro looks like an attempt to strengthen Sivga's position in the affordable enthusiast segment by taking a familiar model and giving it a more serious technical foundation. Rather than chasing novelty for its own sake, the company seems to be leaning into the qualities that already defined the original - balanced tuning, approachable comfort, and a more handcrafted aesthetic than most similarly priced closed-backs.

Founded in 2016 in Dongguan, China, Sivga designs and manufactures headphones in-house, combining wood-based industrial design with dynamic and planar driver technologies across a growing range of personal-audio products. The company also operates Sendy Audio as a higher-end sister brand focused on more premium materials and flagship-oriented designs. The Sivga SV021 Pro will be available from February 5 through Amazon and selected retailers worldwide and is priced at $179/€199/£179. Info and photos by Sivga.
