Monitor Audio Silver 7G
Monitor Audio has announced two new limited-edition loudspeakers based on its Silver Series 7G range - the Silver 300 7G Limited Edition and the Silver 100 7G Limited Edition. Both models are presented in a new Carbon Black Metallic finish and individually numbered, combining subtle design updates with proven acoustic engineering. The Silver Series 7G platform, introduced in 2021, sits at the heart of Monitor Audio's mid-range catalogue, bridging the gap between the Bronze and Gold lines. It introduced several key innovations, including Rigid Surface Technology II (RST II) and a new generation of Ceramic-Coated Aluminium Magnesium (C-CAM) drivers. These limited-edition versions keep that same foundation while refining both aesthetics and detail to mark the series' ongoing success.
Each speaker features the company's signature C-CAM diaphragms, chosen for their light weight and rigidity, which enable low distortion and fast transient response. In this edition, all drivers are anodised in black to complement the new Carbon Black Metallic cabinet finish, giving the speakers a cohesive, understated appearance. The RST II surface patterning on the cones enhances mechanical strength and improves damping, reducing breakup modes at higher frequencies.
Both models use Monitor Audio's Uniform Dispersion Waveguide II to achieve consistent off-axis response, maintaining clarity and tonal balance across a wide listening area. The 25 mm (1 in) C-CAM tweeter has a dark-grey anodised dome and a redesigned rear chamber that lowers resonance and improves linearity in the upper treble range. The crossovers employ carefully selected polypropylene capacitors and air-core inductors, designed and matched in-house to preserve phase coherence and minimise loss.
The Silver 300 7G Limited Edition is a three-way floorstander designed to fill medium-to-large rooms with balanced, full-range sound. It uses dual 165 mm (6½ in) C-CAM bass drivers, a 76 mm (3 in) C-CAM midrange driver and the 25 mm tweeter. The system delivers a specified frequency response of 31 Hz - 35 kHz (-6 dB), with a sensitivity of 87.5 dB and an impedance that dips to 4 ohms at 160 Hz. Power handling is rated for amplifiers between 80 and 200 watts, ensuring compatibility with a broad range of systems from integrated amplifiers to dedicated separates.
The Silver 100 7G Limited Edition follows the same design principles but in a two-way standmount format. It uses a single 203 mm (8 in) C-CAM mid/bass driver paired with the 25 mm tweeter, offering impressive extension down to 37 Hz and an easy 8-ohm load. The compact cabinet makes it well suited to smaller rooms or near-field applications, while maintaining the open, controlled presentation characteristic of the Silver Series.
Monitor Audio has placed particular emphasis on construction quality. The cabinets are built from dense MDF panels with internal bracing to reduce vibration and coloration. Each enclosure is hand-finished in a multi-layer Carbon Black Metallic lacquer, polished to achieve a subtle metallic sheen that changes under different lighting conditions. A new terminal plate and numbered plaque distinguish the Limited Edition versions from standard production models.
The Silver Series 300 7G Limited Edition and Silver Series 100 7G Limited Edition will be available in select markets worldwide from August 2025. The floorstanding Silver 300 7G LE is priced at €2,500 per pair, while the Silver 100 7G LE retails at €1,300 per pair. The matching ST2 loudspeaker stands are offered at €675 per pair.
