Pro-Ject VC-E Mini
Pro-Ject Audio Systems has introduced the VC-E Mini, a new ultra-compact record cleaning machine designed as an entry point into vacuum-assisted vinyl maintenance while retaining the core operating principles of the company's larger cleaning platforms. Engineered and manufactured in Europe, the new model is positioned as a practical alternative to manual washing systems for users looking to improve record care without dedicating significant space to a full-size cleaning unit.
The VC-E Mini adopts a newly developed bottom-mounted vacuum extraction system that removes cleaning fluid without the need for a conventional suction arm. This configuration allows the machine to maintain a smaller footprint than traditional record cleaning devices while still delivering a controlled drying process intended to reduce residue and static after washing. According to Pro-Ject, the approach combines compact dimensions with a more consistent cleaning workflow than entry-level manual solutions typically provide.
The vacuum system itself is driven by a brushless DC motor designed for long service life and lower operating noise compared with conventional alternatives. A magnetic record clamp protects labels from moisture during cleaning, while the supplied Wash it 2 solution removes dust, grease, and static contamination from the record surface. Together, these elements position the VC-E Mini as a simplified but mechanically assisted cleaning option for smaller vinyl collections and everyday maintenance routines.
Despite its reduced dimensions, the machine follows the same general operating philosophy as Pro-Ject's larger vacuum cleaners, focusing on controlled fluid application and extraction rather than passive drying. The compact chassis makes the unit easier to integrate into desktop listening spaces and smaller hi-fi systems where full-size cleaning machines may be impractical.
